Heterogeneous Database Supported by Daffodil Replicator

Replication between heterogeneous databases enables data and database objects to be copied and modified from one database to another across different networks and platforms. Daffodil Replicator has been developed for easy and fast replication between homogeneous and heterogeneous data sources. Among heterogeneous databases widely used database platforms such as Oracle, SQL Server, DB2, Daffodil DB, PostgreSQL, and Derby are supported. It is a Java API that performs Snapshot and Merge data replication for enterprise server and client database.

Snapshot replication makes a copy of the data and propagates the changes of the whole set of data rather than individual transactions. Merge replication permits a higher degree of autonomy and allows the subscribers to update changes and then propagates the changes to the publishers. The updated data on the publisher is then further transferred to other subscribers.

The data synchronization technology provided by Daffodil Replicator enhance the application performance by offering greater autonomy to users who can work with a local copy of the database and then transfer the changes to remote users across the network. The data can be transferred either on-demand or periodically over existing LAN / WAN set ups
